News Topical, Digital Desk : Renowned industrialist Mukesh Ambani arrived at Gaya International Airport on Friday by a special flight to Gaya, the land of salvation and knowledge. From the airport, he went directly to the Vishnupad Temple and performed Pind Daan (the ritual offering of Pind Daan) for his ancestors. The district administration maintained tight security during the ceremony. 

Mukesh Ambani's son Anant was present at the Pind Daan.

A circle has been created within the temple premises for the Pind Daan. Mukesh Ambani, along with his son Anant Ambani, performed the Pind Daan within the Vishnupad Temple premises, followed by offering prayers in the Phalgu River. Shambhu Lal Vitthal, the Gayapal priest and chairman of the Shri Vishnupad Managing Committee, performed the rituals with the chanting of Vedic mantras.

Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani, along with his son Anant Ambani, arrived in Gaya on a special flight. The two performed Pind Daan, Tarpan, and other rituals, seeking salvation and liberation for their ancestors. After the rituals, they will depart for Mumbai on a special flight.

Prior to his arrival, the district administration established strict security arrangements at the Vishnupad Temple complex. Public access was restricted during this period. The administration arranged for the Pind Daan ceremony to be performed under strict security.

What is the belief in religious texts regarding Pitru Paksha?

Religious texts hold the belief that performing Pind Daan, Tarpan, and Shraddha rituals at Gaya during the Pitru Paksha Mela period leads to the salvation and liberation of ancestors. This is why millions of Hindu Sanatan Dharma followers from India and abroad visit the place during this period. The scriptures also mention that Lord Shri Ram and Sita also performed Pind Daan in the Treta Yuga.
