
News Topical, Digital Desk : The Excise Policy for 2025–27 was approved in Haryana. A cabinet meeting was held on Monday (May 5) under the chairmanship of CM Naib Singh Saini. Under this, a total of 2400 shops will open. There will be 1200 zones in it. The distance of liquor shops from schools, colleges, temples etc. has been increased from 75 to 150 meters. Shops will not be visible from the National / State Highway. Advertising will be banned. Violation will result in a fine of ₹ 1-3 lakh and license cancellation. There will be no liquor shops in villages with a population of less than 500. 152 liquor shops will be closed in 700 villages. Zones and fees have been determined for opening the enclosure.
Along with this, it was decided in the cabinet meeting that Agniveers will also be given an ex-gratia amount of Rs 1 crore on the lines of soldiers martyred in the war.
