New Delhi: The story of the film should be good, whether the production house is big or small, it does not matter how much fees are being paid. This is the belief of actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Recently, filmmaker Karan Johar had said that big actors who demand high fees should review their box office performance and then ask for fees.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who works with new producers and directors, considers himself different from the big actors. Talking to Dainik Jagran, he says, "Yes, I agree with Karan on this point. But I would also say that don't hire those who don't review themselves or demand more money. Then why hire them? I don't feel the need to review myself because I don't charge that much."

I am not pretending- Nawaz

He further said that the artists really need to review the budget in which the films of big production houses are made, because it is their responsibility to recover the cost. I do not consider myself in this race. I know my reality. I am not pretending. This is true. Most of my films are of small budget. That cost is easily recovered from theatre release, OTT and satellite rights.

I am doing all kinds of small and big films- Nawaz

He said that my perspective of looking at art is different from others. I am never satisfied with my work. I always have a desire to do good films. If I had thought about the fees, then how would I have worked with new directors. I am doing all kinds of films, big and small.
