In an interview given to Laharen Retro, Anu told that in one scene of the film, she had to slap Mehmood, who was of her grandfather's age. Initially, the actress was very hesitant to do this scene, but later she got ready for it by mentally preparing herself. Seeing the intensity of the scene, she slapped the actor so hard that he started crying. Anu felt so bad about this that while cutting the scene, she hugged him and said sorry. Mehmood said while crying - okay okay.

Anu had a terrible accident

Apart from 'Aashiqui', Anu worked in films like 'Gajaab Tamasha', 'King Uncle' and 'Janam Kundali'. The actress was getting success when suddenly in the year 1999 she had a tragic accident which changed her life completely. She was in coma for 29 days and had forgotten the entire past part of her life.

The actress said that her mother used to show her her pictures to bring back her memory but it did not have any effect on her. She was not able to recognize herself. Now after staying away from the industry for almost three decades, Anu has expressed her desire to return to acting. She is currently looking for the right script.
