Devshayani Ekadashi 2025 Date and Time

According to the Hindu calendar, the Ekadashi date of the Shukla Paksha of the Ashad month will begin on July 05 at 06:58 pm. At the same time, it will end on July 06 at 09:14 pm. Looking at the calendar, Devshayani Ekadashi fast will be observed on July 06.

 

Devshayani Ekadashi 2025 Puja Vidhi

  • On the day of Ekadashi, wake up in the Brahma Muhurta, take a bath and wear yellow clothes.
  • Before starting the puja, take a pledge of fasting by holding water, flowers and Akshat in your hand.
  • Spread a yellow cloth on an altar and place the idol of Lord Vishnu on it.
  • Bathe Lord Vishnu with Panchamrit and pure water.
  • Offer them yellow clothes, sandalwood, flowers, garland, whole rice grains, betel leaf, betel nut and Tulsi leaves etc.
  • Light a lamp of pure ghee.
  • Chant the mantras of Lord Vishnu.
  • Recite the story of Devshayani Ekadashi fast.
  • In the end, perform the aarti of Lord Shri Hari Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi.
  • Include yellow fruits, sweets, milk products as offerings.
  • Do bhajan and kirtan.
  • Break the fast the next day, i.e. on Dwadashi Tithi.

Significance of Devshayani Ekadashi (Devshayani Ekadashi 2025 Significance)

Chaturmas starts from Devshayani Ekadashi . It lasts for four months. During this period, Lord Vishnu is in Yog Nidra and Lord Shiva takes care of the entire world. It is believed that auspicious works are not done during this period. However, religious works like worship, charity etc. yield special results. Along with this, one attains salvation.
