Revenue Advances 13% to ₹1,146 Cr, Profit Falls 32%, ₹2 Dividend Approved
Integrated steel and agro-products manufacturer Gallantt Ispat Limited reported its financial performance for the second quarter ended September 30, 2026 (Q2 FY27) in a regulatory filing to stock exchanges on Tuesday, October 20, 2026. The earnings scorecard presented a divergent picture: while robust domestic demand helped lift the company's consolidated top-line revenue by double digits, elevated operational expenses and softening realisations weighed heavily on profitability. Operating earnings and net margins witnessed noticeable year-on-year contractions, reflecting prevailing cost dynamics across the secondary steel sector, even as the company completed shareholder formalities to disburse its final dividend for the previous fiscal year.
Q2 FY27 Scorecard: Top-Line Climbs to ₹1,146 Crore as EBITDA Margins Narrow to 9.57%
During the July-September 2026 quarter, Gallantt Ispat recorded consolidated operational revenue of ₹1,146 crore, marking a 13.1 percent year-on-year increase compared to ₹1,013 crore achieved in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. However, the rise in volume sales did not translate down to the bottom line due to an uptick in key raw material inputs, power costs, and operational outlays. The company's Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) dropped 16.6 percent to ₹109.6 crore, down from ₹131.5 crore posted in Q2 FY26. Consequently, operating EBITDA margins compressed by 343 basis points, sliding to 9.57 percent from 13.00 percent reported a year ago. Driven by this margin squeeze, consolidated net profit (profit after tax) for the quarter contracted by 31.95 percent to ₹60.5 crore, compared to ₹89 crore in the prior-year period.
Shareholder Rewards: AGM Ratifies ₹2 Final Dividend for Investors
Alongside its second-quarter earnings performance, the company reaffirmed its commitment to capital return distributions for long-term equity holders. The Board of Directors of Gallantt Ispat had previously recommended a final dividend of ₹2 per equity share carrying a face value of ₹10 (a 20 percent payout on par value) for the financial year ended March 31, 2026, during its meeting on May 5, 2026. Following statutory procedures, this proposed payout was formally approved by shareholders at the company's Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on September 30, 2026, setting the stage for direct credit into the bank accounts of eligible investors within the prescribed regulatory timeframe. Market participants will now monitor Gallantt Ispat's ongoing capacity utilization, infrastructure spending momentum, and capacity to defend operating spreads heading into the second half of FY27.
