News Topical, Digital Desk : There was commotion in the Bharatpur district court premises of Rajasthan when an accused came to surrender and on getting the news that he would be sent to jail on the orders of the magistrate, he escaped from the dock.

According to reports, the accused escaped during a judicial proceeding at the Special Court for SC/ST Disputes Redressal (SC/ST), Bharatpur, causing a brief commotion in the court premises. The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday (November 4) evening. The incident came to light on Wednesday (November 4) when the court's reader, Ashok Kumar, filed a complaint against the accused at the police station. 

The court had come to surrender

In filing the complaint, the reader stated that the accused, Surendra alias Babla, son of Deepchand, resident of Chikru, Police Station Sadar Bayana, District Bharatpur, had arrived at the court to surrender in the case filed against him. The magistrate ordered him into judicial custody and called for a security guard. When the accused realized he was being sent to jail, he seized the opportunity and escaped by dodging the people present. Following court orders, prosecutor Ashok Kumar filed a case of absconding against the accused at Mathura Gate Police Station.

What does the police officer have to say? 

City Superintendent of Police Pankaj Yadav stated that the absconding accused was wanted in an old assault case, which also involved the SC/ST Act. His bail plea had been rejected by the High Court, after which he appeared in court on Tuesday to surrender. As soon as the magistrate ordered his imprisonment, the accused sensed this and seized the opportunity to flee. City Superintendent of Police Pankaj Yadav stated that a special police team has been formed to arrest the accused, and raids are being conducted at potential hideouts. The accused will be arrested soon.
