The film was announced in March last year and it was to be released in theaters by December, but secretly its release date was postponed.
Now finally Dhadak 2 is ready to hit the theatres, but after making several changes. Yes, the CBFC i.e. the censor board ordered 16 changes to be made in this film before releasing it in theatres and has given it a green signal by giving it a U/A 16+ certificate.

According to The Hindu, around 16 scenes have been cut from Dhadak 2, which includes many dialogues and scenes related to casteism. As you know that this film is based on a Dalit love story, the dialogues have been changed to avoid controversies.

'A 3000-year-old issue will not be resolved in just 70 years'. This dialogue has been changed to 'A centuries-old issue of discrimination will not be resolved in 70 years'. The dialogue that references an example of Bahujan Samaj Party founder Kanshi Ram has been reworded.
The scene of urinating on the hero was also removed
Not only this, the scene of a man urinating on Nilesh ( Siddhant Chaturvedi 's character) has been cut. The words Chamaar and Bhangi in the film have also been muted and replaced with the word Jangli. Similarly, many such scenes have been removed or changed, in which religion is mentioned or caste discrimination is shown.
There was a dialogue - 'Swarnon ke sadak... humein jal dete tha' (The roads of the goldsmiths used to burn us). This too has been changed and the new dialogue is - Neither the roads were ours nor the land was ours nor the water was ours, even life was not ours. When the time came to die, the city came. The 20-second disclaimer before the film was replaced with a one minute 51-second version, which was read out loud. The scene of violence against a woman was replaced with a black screen. As of now, the release date has not been announced yet.
