Milk and curd products

You must have often seen people eating paratha and curd along with tea in the morning breakfast. You may also be doing these things, but it can be harmful for your health. It has a bad effect on the digestive system. Actually, tannin and caffeine present in tea mixed with milk or curd can cause acidity and gas problems.

Never eat any fruit with tea, especially citrus fruits which contain a good amount of vitamin C. This habit can spoil your digestive system. The acidic elements present in tea disturb the vitamins of fruits. This can cause problems like constipation.

Most people like to eat gram flour pakoras with tea but this is not good for your stomach. Actually gram flour is already heavy. The tannin present in tea creates a hindrance in digesting gram flour. This can cause  gas and indigestion .

 

Egg or non veg

Never eat eggs or non-veg with tea. They contain a good amount of protein and tea contains tannin. Both of these slow down digestion. This can  cause acidity and stomach pain .

People always prefer to eat fried food with tea like samosas, kachoris or chips. These are not considered good for the stomach. These things have a high amount of oil which when mixed with tea increases the acid in the stomach. 

 

What to do?

  • Keep a gap of at least 30 minutes between tea and food.
  • Avoid drinking tea on an empty stomach.
  • If you have to eat something with tea, then choose light snacks like Laai, Murmura or Oats cookies.
