News Topical, Digital Desk : The situation in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, has escalated after protests demanding wage increases turned violent. On Tuesday, househelps and maids working in homes and societies in Noida staged a sit-in protest demanding pay increases and leave. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has targeted the current BJP government over the incident.

Akhilesh Yadav alleged that the BJP government's policies have driven people onto the streets. He appealed to both sides and advised them to reach a compromise. Akhilesh Yadav also posted a message on his social media handles regarding this matter.

Akhilesh Yadav's post

Akhilesh Yadav shared a video from ABP News, writing, “After factory workers, domestic workers have also taken to the streets. Whether it's these maids or the majority of middle-class families they work for, both are suffering due to rising inflation caused by the BJP government's wrong policies. They need each other, which is why this situation hasn't arisen in years. It's hoped that both sides, realizing each other's compulsions and needs, will be able to re-establish cordial relations through peaceful and understanding adjustments, because the BJP government will do nothing but increase inflation.”

After workers, now maids are on the streets

The police and administration in Noida have been alerted by the attitude of maids and house helps. They are being pacified through persuasion. A committee has been formed to address the workers' concerns. However, other groups are now also voicing their own interests, which could pose a significant challenge.

On the other hand, the opposition is continuously attacking the BJP government on the issue of rising inflation and unemployment and in such a situation, the workers' movement has gained more strength.
