A caretaker hiding in the restaurant's bathroom died of suffocation. The fire was so devastating that everything was destroyed. A short circuit is suspected to be the cause of the fire. Four fire brigade vehicles arrived at the scene and controlled the fire. A video of the fire is going viral on social media.
A massive fire broke out in a restaurant near the Nauka Vihar Buddhist Museum in the Ramgarhtal police station area of Gorakhpur. The fire quickly took a monstrous form. High flames and plumes of smoke were visible from afar. Housekeeping staff member Purushottam (55), a resident of Gonda district, died of suffocation in the accident. The fire department received a call about the fire in the four-story restaurant and banquet hall at 5:16 am. The fire was so intense that all four floors (G+3) were engulfed in flames. Judging by the viral video, it appears as if it were a film shoot.

However, everything was destroyed in this tragic accident. People going for morning walks from night to dawn captured a video of the incident, which is going viral on social media. A short circuit is being cited as the cause of the fire. The fire broke out at the Water Veg Restaurant and Banquet located in front of the Buddhist Museum near Taramandal Road Boating Park, Ramgarhtal. Upon receiving the information, four fire brigade vehicles, along with FSO Golghar, were dispatched to the scene.
Fire control and information about the deceased
Gorakhpur Chief Financial Officer Santosh Kumar Rai immediately arrived at the scene. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the entire G+3 building was engulfed in flames, with shops on the ground floor, a restaurant on the first floor, rooms on the second floor, and a banquet hall on the third floor. The fire began in the restaurant and spread throughout the entire building. It was completely extinguished by pumping with the help of four fire fighting vehicles. However, a housekeeper named Purushottam was found lying in a critical condition in a washroom on the first floor. He was rushed to the hospital by local police for treatment and was declared dead after being examined by doctors. The restaurant and banquet hall is said to be owned by Manoj Shahi. The fire was brought under control within two hours.
Gorakhpur's Chief Fire Officer, Santosh Kumar Rai, stated that on Sunday, November 16th, at 5:16 am, the fire station received a call about a fire at a restaurant and banquet hall in the Ramgarhtal area. Four vehicles were immediately dispatched. The fire was burning simultaneously from the ground floor to the third floor. The fire was completely extinguished. A young man was found lying face down in the bathroom of the restaurant on the first floor of the building. He was rushed to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The fire was brought under control after an hour and a half of tireless efforts.
