Akriti Chopra, co-founder of online food delivery company Zomato, has resigned from her post. She worked at Zomato for 13 years. Zomato has informed about this resignation in the stock exchange filing. The company said - As per Regulation 30 of SEBI Listing Regulations, we would like to inform that Ms. Akriti Chopra has resigned. Akriti has resigned to pursue her other interests. Her resignation has become effective from September 27, 2024. She was with the company for 13 years. During this time, she played a key role in setting up and expanding the legal and finance teams in her previous role as Zomato's Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
There have been several resignations already
Another co-founder of Zomato, Gunjan Patidar, also resigned in January last year. At that time she was serving as the Chief Technology Officer. Earlier in November 2022, another co-founder Mohit Gupta also parted ways with Zomato.
How were the June quarter results
Zomato's net profit in the first quarter of the current financial year 2024-25 has increased manifold to Rs 253 crore. In the same quarter a year ago, the company's profit was only Rs 2 crore. Operating income grew by more than 74 percent to Rs 4,206 crore in the first (April-June) quarter of the current financial year, from Rs 2,416 crore in April-June last year. Total expenditure in the quarter increased to Rs 4,203 crore, from Rs 2,612 crore in the same quarter a year ago.
Zomato stock situation
On the last trading day of the week i.e. Friday, Zomato shares closed at Rs 278.25. The stock closed down by 1.97% compared to the previous day. The all-time high of the stock is Rs 298.20.
