Kannauj Crime News: A video of a woman being brutally beaten up in Kannauj district is going viral on social media. The video is said to be from Vishnugarh police station area. In the video, a bully is beating a woman with sticks and people standing nearby are watching as spectators. The beating is stopped when the woman faints.

In UP's Kannauj, a bully kept beating a woman mercilessly while the people standing there remained spectators. It is also being learnt that the other person beating the woman mercilessly is her own husband. After the video went viral, various discussions have intensified in the area regarding women's safety.  

When the woman filed a complaint against her brother-in-law, the husband beat her

Actually, the victim woman living in Vishnugan police station area had complained to the police station that her brother-in-law had molested her. When she complained about this to her family, her family members first shaved her head and then tied her up and beat her brutally. She was beaten so badly that she fainted. The police took the matter seriously and registered a case and arrested 6 accused. 

Punishment for complaining about molestation 

Kannauj Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar Anand said that on 03.09.2024, the victim had given an application to the Vishungarh police station of Kannauj district, alleging that Bachchunath had entered the house and molested her with bad intentions. On protesting, he first abused her and then along with his companions forcibly cut her hair. On the complaint of the victim, a case was registered in the Vishnugan police station under section 74/115(2)/191(2)/333/351(3)/352/356(2) BNS and the accused Bachchunath, Guddunath, Guddi were arrested and sent to jail. If the victim woman is to be believed, she had complained of molestation and he has been punished for it.
