According to the report in Times of India, Rani has shared some stories regarding the making of the 'The Ulam' movie. The film 'Ghulam' was directed by Vikram Bhatt. As much as he liked Rani's acting in this movie, he disliked her voice equally. In such a situation, the makers had used someone else's voice in the film in his place. Rani said that she had to sacrifice her herself voice e for the film. She felt bad about it, but she could not do anything.

Makers did not want to take risk

Rani tolsaidat in those days there was a trend to dub the voice of the actress. His voice was dubbed because Aamir Khan, Vikram Bhatt and, the film's producer Mukesh Bhatt felt that the audience might not accept his voice. He did not want to take any risk with his voice. Let us tell you that 'Ghulam' was Rani Mukherjee's second and first hit film of her career in Hindi cinema. His voice was dubbed in the movie which opened the doors to other big projects for him. 

Aamir Khan had said this

To ensure that there is no problem in voice dubbing in the film, Aamir had explained to Rani that actors have to do this as per the requirement of the movie. Sridevi was a top actress at that time, but her voice was also dubbed.
