Director-producer Rakesh Roshan, while talking about the film, said that initially Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgan were cast in his film. Shahrukh also said that he wanted Ajay Devgan's role because it had many action scenes. But the director did not listen to him and he left the film. Salman came in the film in his place. After this, Ajay also left the film.

Rakesh Roshan told that when the shot of the film was ready, both the actors were not present on the set. They had to be called, and by the time they would come, it would be sunset time. They had to finish the shot as soon as possible before sunset. The actor told that many times Pinky Madam (Rakesh Roshan's wife) used to scold him and angrily used to say, you people are troubling him a lot, I did not expect this from you.
