Amethi News Today: Police's 'Operation Langda' is continuing in Amethi. In the last 24 hours, police has arrested two cow smugglers in another encounter. In the encounter, one cow smuggler was shot in the leg and has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. 

The police have also recovered a large quantity of cow slaughter equipment, pistols, live cartridges and a motorcycle from the arrested accused. Several cases are registered against the two arrested cow slaughterers in police stations of Amethi and nearby districts.

The accused were hiding in the ruins.
This entire case is about the ruins near the under-construction degree college located in Kathora of Kamarouli police station area. The police had received information late at night that some cow smugglers were catching stray animals and planning to slaughter them. As soon as the information was received, Kamarouli police reached the spot and surrounded the ruins. 

On seeing the police, the accused started firing, after which the police also fired back. In this action, one of the accused got shot in the leg, who has been identified as Arshad alias Sonu. The police chased and caught the other accused Hasib alias Laden. 

Several cases are registered against the accused.
The injured accused has been admitted to Jagdishpur CHC for treatment, where he is undergoing treatment. The police have recovered a pistol, live cartridges, a shell, a wooden stand, a chopper, a scale and weights from the spot. 

Apart from this, the police have recovered many other equipments including cow slaughter from the accused. Apart from this, a Pulsar motorcycle has also been seized. More than 17 serious criminal cases are registered against both the arrested accused in the police stations of Amethi and neighboring districts.

What did the police say?
Musafirkhana CO Atul Singh said that the police had received information late at night that some cow slaughterers had gathered near the ruins and they were planning to slaughter cows. As soon as the information was received, the police team reached the spot and cordoned off the area. 

CO Atul Singh said that on seeing the police, the cow smugglers started firing. In the retaliatory action of the police, one cow smuggler got injured and has been admitted to the hospital. At present, both the cow smugglers have been arrested and further legal action is being taken.
