UPPCS: The UP Public Service Commission's PCS Pre Exam for the year 2024 is once again on the verge of being postponed. Preparations are now being made to conduct this exam in the month of December. In the commission's calendar, this exam is currently proposed on 27th and 28th October. Earlier this exam was to be held in the month of March, but due to the leak of the paper of Review Officer and Assistant Review Officer i.e. RO and ARO Recruitment Exam, it was postponed till October.

According to sources associated with UPPSC, there are preparations to postpone this exam due to non-availability of examination centers as per the standard issued by the government. This PCS Pre 2024 exam is now being prepared to be conducted on 7th and 8th December. However, competitive students are also opposing the preliminary examination. According to sources, a formal and final announcement will be made regarding the new exam date in the meeting of the commission to be held next week.

The commission wrote a letter to all the collectors.
The secretary of the commission, Ashok Kumar, has written a letter in this regard to all the district magistrates of UP and has requested them to get consent from the examination centers for 7th and 8th December. The commission has sought consent from the district magistrates for examination centers having the capacity to accommodate 480 and 384 candidates. The consent letters of the examination centers have been requested to be provided to the commission by 17th October. Besides this, the examination centers which had given their consent on 26th and 27th October have been requested to give their consent for 7th and 8th December as well.

However, the examination centres will be decided on the recommendation of the district level committee. The commission has not yet completely ruled out the option of examination on 26 and 27 October. This examination, which was earlier proposed on 17 March, was postponed in the month of March due to the RO/ARO paper leak. The commission then released a revised calendar on 4 June. In the revised calendar, the date of PCS preliminary examination was proposed as 27 October.

In the new examination ordinance of UP, strict standards have been set for determining the centres. 5 lakh 76 thousand candidates have applied for the PCS preliminary examination. In view of the difficulties in conducting the preliminary examination in one day, the commission had made preparations to conduct the examination for two days on 26 and 27 October, but due to the examination centres not being finalised till now, the commission is considering conducting the examination in December.
