Delhi Police Security For New Year 2025: The wait for the new year is going to end soon. Meanwhile, Delhi Police has tightened security in the border areas of the national capital for the New Year celebrations and increased the deployment of security personnel. Officials gave this information on Thursday (26 December). He said that more than 10 thousand policemen, including traffic police, are expected to be deployed to curb the cases of nuisance and traffic violations.
A senior Delhi Police official said, "After Christmas, we have made a strong plan for security arrangements for New Year's Eve. We want everyone to welcome the New Year with great enthusiasm but no one will be allowed to violate the law."
Security tightened in Delhi border areas
According to the police, additional personnel will be deployed along with additional checkpoints, barricades and deployment of paramilitary forces on the borders to deal with the disturbance caused by people coming from neighboring states. Delhi shares its border with Haryana and Uttar Pradesh and is close to Rajasthan. A large number of people from these three states reach the national capital to celebrate the New Year.
Strictness on those doing stunts and driving under the influence of alcohol
The police said it had already deployed policemen at more than 10 places for Christmas but has now beefed up security and deployed a large number of personnel at more than 15 places where vehicles enter the national capital. Another police officer said, "The traffic police has already prepared a plan to deal with stunts on motorcycles and drunk driving. Additional forces will be deployed from various police stations to assist the traffic police."
According to the police, duty will be done in shifts and Station House Officers (SHOs) have been ordered to be on the road with their teams to maintain law and order on New Year's Eve. The police officer said that if any person is found involved in activities like 'stunts', the security personnel will seize the vehicle and strict action will be ensured.
The police team is investigating at many of these places
The officer said, "For the New Year celebrations, our teams are checking bus stands, railway stations, hotels, dharamshalas, night shelters and other places to find out if anyone is staying without proper documents. We have already started a special campaign to identify people living illegally in the national capital."
More than ten thousand policemen of Delhi Police's traffic and other units will maintain vigil. A senior officer of Delhi Traffic Police said that adequate number of traffic personnel will be deployed. He said that the main focus will be around Connaught Place, Hauz Khas, markets and malls.
Only vehicles with valid stickers will be allowed to enter the inner circle area of Connaught Place. Delhi Police will distribute the stickers. Additional security forces will also be deployed at India Gate, where people come to celebrate New Year.
