New hypersonic missile: India has become stronger in the defense sector. On Sunday, India successfully tested a long-range hypersonic missile. It is clear that India has achieved a major milestone in the direction of military power. The successful test of the long-range hypersonic missile is being described as an important step.

Actually, this missile is designed to carry various payloads for a range of more than 1500 km. After India's success, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh said that India has successfully flight tested a long-range hypersonic missile off the coast of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Island, Odisha. This is a historic achievement and has put India in the group of select countries that have such important and advanced military technologies.

After the successful test of this long-range hypersonic missile, DRDO said that the missile was tracked by various range systems and the flight data confirmed that the terminal maneuvers and launch into the target area were successful with accuracy.

This missile is made in India itself

The special thing about this long-range missile is that it has been manufactured in India itself. This missile has been indigenously built at Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Missile Complex in Hyderabad with the help of DRDO laboratories and industry partners. Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Defense Secretary and DRDO Chairman congratulated the team on the success of the test of this missile.

Understand at a glance

What is called a hypersonic missile?

It is worth noting that hypersonic missiles travel at more than five times the speed of sound. It is estimated that hypersonic missiles travel at a speed of about 6,200 km per hour. However, this missile is slightly slower than an intercontinental ballistic missile. But the shape of the hypersonic glide vehicle allows this missile to move towards the target or away from defense. Hypersonic missiles have the ability to dodge enemy radars.

At the same time, the specialty of these missiles is that they carry out their operation in any situation. Hypersonic missiles are of both cruise and ballistic types. They are adept at making their own path in the air.
