Shimla Sanjauli Mosque: Shimla police on Wednesday lathicharged people protesting against the mosque in Sanjauli, Himachal Pradesh. Not only this, water cannons were also used on the protesters. Local traders are now very angry with this. In protest against this, local traders have decided to keep their shops closed from 10 am to 1 pm. All the shops in the city under Shimla Vyapar Mandal will remain closed. Apart from this, a decision has been taken to close shops in Sanjauli suburb as well.

Sanjeev Thakur of Shimla Vyapar Mandal said that on Wednesday the police repeatedly lathicharged the protesters. These protesters had reached there only to put forward their demands, but despite this they were lathicharged. Here even the elderly and women were not given any consideration. In protest against this, the Shimla Vyapar Mandal has now decided to keep the market closed. He said that through this the traders of Shimla are registering their protest.

 

What did Shimla SP Sanjeev Gandhi say?

Regarding this matter, Shimla SP Sanjeev Gandhi said, "We had appealed to everyone to maintain peace. Provisions were implemented under Section 163 of BNSS. We also held a meeting with those who claim to be stakeholders in this matter. They had assured that everything would be peaceful, but yesterday public property was damaged and barricades were broken."

 

Sanjeev Gandhi said, "Stone pelting happened in a pre-planned manner. Policemen have also been injured. We worked under the law. The law will have its consequences. Peace was restored immediately. Citizens are busy in their daily lives. We reiterate that we all should have faith in the Constitution and the law. Some policemen have been injured in the stone pelting. This will be investigated."

 

Lathicharge happened on Wednesday

Let us tell you that on Wednesday, after moving ahead from the Dhali tunnel in Sanjauli, as soon as the crowd reached a distance of about 200 meters from the mosque, a large number of police personnel were deployed here. At first the police personnel tried to drive the people away from here, but they were not successful in it.

 

After this, the police lathicharged the protesters. An attempt was made to disperse the crowd with the lathicharge. About seven people were badly injured in the lathicharge. Among them, Raju Thakur was the most seriously injured, who was taken to Indira Gandhi Medical College for treatment. Six police personnel were also injured during the scuffle and stone pelting.
