New Delhi. Today the stock market is trading with a decline. In the last session i.e. on Thursday, the stock market closed in a limited range. 

In early trade today, the BSE Sensex fell 386.58 points or 0.48 percent to 79,663.09. The NSE Nifty fell 84.85 points or 0.35 percent to trade at 24,217.30.

These stocks fell

Among Sensex companies, shares of HDFC Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra, Titan, Tata Steel, ICICI Bank, IndusInd Bank, Power Grid and Kotak Mahindra Bank are trading in the red.

On the other hand, shares of Sun Pharmaceuticals, JSW Steel, Larsen & Toubro, Hindustan Unilever, Reliance Industries, Infosys and Tech Mahindra are trading with gains.

international market situation

In Asian markets, Seoul was trading higher, while Tokyo, Shanghai and Hong Kong were down. US markets were closed on Thursday for Independence Day.

Global oil benchmark Brent crude fell 0.37 per cent to USD 87.11 per barrel.Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net buyers in the capital market on Thursday as they purchased shares worth Rs 2,575.85 crore, according to exchange data.

 

Indian currency rises

The rupee opened 5 paise higher today. The rupee opened at 83.48 at the interbank foreign exchange market and rose to 83.45 against the greenback, registering a rise of 5 paise from its previous close. On Thursday, the rupee pared its early losses and closed on a nearly flat note at 83.50 against the US dollar for the day.
