Wealth of Rich Indians: India's economy has been booming for the last few years. Along with this, the number of rich people in the country is also increasing rapidly. Not only is the number of billionaires and millionaires increasing in the country, but the number of lakhpatis is also on the rise. A recent report has shown that the assets of High Net Worth Individuals (HNI) and Ultra High Net Worth Individuals (UHNI) in the country were $1.2 trillion in 2023. The report estimates that by 2028, the assets of the rich will be $2.2 trillion. There is an increase of about 14 percent annually in these.
The number of lakhpatis and crorepatis also increased rapidly
According to the report of Centrum Institutional Research, the income of people in India has increased rapidly in the last 5 years. The number of people earning Rs 10 crore annually has jumped 63 percent to 31,800. Also, the number of people earning Rs 50 lakh annually has also increased by 25 percent to more than 10 lakh. Apart from this, the number of people earning more than Rs 5 crore has reached 58,200. This figure has jumped by 49 percent in 5 years. The report says that between the financial year 2019 and 2024, the number of Indian rich and their wealth has increased a lot.
The total income of the rich has almost doubled in 5 years
The report claims that the total income of people earning Rs 50 lakh annually has increased by 64 percent to Rs 49 lakh crore in these 5 years. Apart from this, the total income of those earning more than Rs 10 crore annually has increased by 121 percent to Rs 38 lakh crore between 2019 and 2024. Apart from this, the total income of those earning more than Rs 5 crore annually has increased by 106 percent to Rs 40 lakh crore.
Only 15% of financial wealth is being managed professionally
The report estimates that the assets of HNI and UHNI in the country will grow from $1.2 trillion in 2023 to $2.2 trillion by 2028. They are growing at an annual rate of about 14 per cent. However, only 15 per cent of the country's financial wealth is professionally managed, while in countries with large economies this figure is 75 per cent.
