1. Bhogi Pongal - The first day of Pongal is known as Bhogi Pongal. On this day people clean their houses and worship Lord Indra.
2. Thai Pongal - Thai Pongal (Thai Pongal 2025), celebrated on the second day of Pongal, is considered very important. On this day, Lord Sun is worshiped and it is wished that the crop yield is good. On this day, kheer is also made by boiling the rice of the new crop.
3. Mattu Pongal - The third day of Pongal is known as Mattu Pongal. Cattle also play a special role in the good yield of crops, so on the day of Mattu Pongal, cattle (animals) are decorated and worshipped.
4. Kannum Pongal - This is the last day of Pongal. This day is also known as Kannum. On this day, dishes are prepared using sugarcane, milk, rice, ghee etc. and offered to the Sun God.
