Mathura News: Five persons have been arrested for trying to convert people from Hinduism to Christianity in Tulsi Nagar Indrapuri Colony of Highway police station area of ​​Mathura district. A police officer gave this information on Sunday. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shailesh Kumar Pandey said that on Saturday information was received that some people were inciting people to convert by luring them. He said that the police of Highway police station reached the spot and arrested five people.

The SSP said that the accused were arrested when a 'Dharma Sabha' was going on there before the conversion. Police said that about 48 men and women had also gathered at the spot for the alleged conversion. He said that the accused were arrested under the provisions of the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Unlawful Religious Conversion Act 2021. He said that those arrested include Samson Samuel, Amardev, Vikas Bhoi, Ajay Selvaraj and Rakesh. 

Police also found religious pamphlets.
He said that a large number of religious books, posters etc. were recovered from the possession of the accused. He said that they have been sent to judicial custody. Highway police station's SHO Anand Kumar Shahi had said on Saturday evening that the police found about 48 men gathered in a house and the same number of women gathered in the house in front of it. He said that a program of food etc. was going on there, some religious pamphlets were also found there.

He had told that a Taiwanese citizen present inside the house, the landlord, his wife and about 12 men and women were brought to the police station and are being questioned. The SHO had said that action will be taken against them only if any concrete evidence is found to confirm the allegation of conversion. Police Area Officer (CO) Shweta Verma told on Sunday that on searching the house where the meeting was being held to mislead people, a large amount of religious books, posters, public address systems etc. were recovered from the arrested persons. He told that a case has been registered at the Highway Police Station in connection with this incident.

Nothing suspicious found in the investigation
He said that the seven other people who were detained, including the Taiwanese citizen, were released the same night when their role was not found in the investigation. He told that the Taiwanese citizen Singfu had come to India on a tourist visa. He told that he lived with Samuel. He told that during the investigation, the police did not find any role of him in the conversion. He told that his laptop was also investigated but nothing suspicious was found in it.
