In Sanatan Dharma, auspicious and auspicious works are not done during the period of Pitru Paksha (Pitru Paksha 2024). Every year, Pitru Paksha starts from the Pratipada date of Krishna Paksha of Ashwin month. At the same time, it ends on Amavasya. During this time, the ancestors are worshiped and tarpan is done. When does Pitru Paksha start (Pitru Paksha 2024 Date)

This year Pitru Paksha will start from 17th September (Kab Se Hai Pitru Paksha 2024). At the same time, it will end on 02 October.

 

On this auspicious time, perform Pitra Tarpan on Pratipada date

Brahma Muhurta - from 04:34 am to 05:21 am

Vijay Muhurat - from 02:17 pm to 03:06 pm

Twilight time - from 06:22 pm to 06:46 pm

Pitru Paksha 2024 Tarpan Vidhi

 

  • During Pitru Paksha, wake up early in the morning, take a bath and wear clean clothes.
  • Now put water, flowers, kusha, whole rice grains and sesame seeds in a vessel and offer water to the ancestors.
  • After this, chant the Pitru Mantra and recite Pitru Chalisa.
  • During Tarpan, one should face towards east.
  • Pray for the peace of the ancestors.
  • Now facing north, perform tarpan with barley and kusha.
  • After this, ask for forgiveness from the ancestors for any mistake committed during the puja.
  • It is considered auspicious to donate according to one's faith on this day.

5. ॐ Pitraganaya विद्महे Jagat Dharini धीमहि तन्नो Pitru prachodayat.
