Gorakhpur. On finding Pakistani connection of a young man from Pipraich working in Merchant Navy, the ATS team took him into custody on Thursday night. The team took the young man with them after not being satisfied with the answers given during the four-hour interrogation at Pipraich police station. The family members are saying that the young man was arrested due to misunderstanding.
A 25-year-old youth from Pipraich area worked in the Merchant Navy. He was posted in Goa. He had come to his village from Goa four months ago to get compensation for land acquisition for the four-lane road and was at home since then. On Thursday evening at four o'clock, the ATS team along with the Pipraich police station reached his house and brought him to the police station for questioning.
On the mother's asking, the team told that the youth has to be questioned in a cyber crime. He will be released from the police station. After questioning him for four hours at the police station, the ATS team took the youth with them.
It is being said that he was in contact with a Pakistani agent. There has been a monetary transaction from his account. The ATS team which took the youth with them from the police station at 9 pm noted down the mobile number of the relatives.
Mother and village people are saying that he is innocent
On receiving the information about the youth being caught, his mother, relatives and villagers also reached Pipraich police station. His father had died 15 years ago. The relatives and villagers pleaded with the policemen standing outside the police station to release him and said that the youth is innocent and has been caught due to misunderstanding.
