Crime News: In an encounter between the Knowledge Park police station of Greater Noida and a criminal with a reward of Rs 25,000, the criminal was injured after being shot in the leg. He has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. The criminal was identified as Suraj, a resident of Bulandshahr. The police was searching for him since last October. The police recovered a stolen motorcycle, pistol, cartridges etc. from the possession of the accused from the police station area.
Suraj, who was injured by a police bullet and carrying a reward of Rs 25,000, was arrested by the police in an injured state and admitted to the hospital for treatment. Additional DCP of Greater Noida Ashok Kumar said that the Knowledge Park police station was checking on the way to Jhatta crematorium. During that time, seeing a suspect coming on a motorcycle, the police signaled him to stop but he did not stop and started running back. When the police tried to chase him, he opened fire on the police. During this, the police also retaliated in which the criminal was injured after being shot in the leg.
The injured accused has more than a dozen cases of theft.
Additional DCP Ashok Kumar said that on October 12, accused Suraj, along with his accomplices, had carried out the robbery of an Apache motorcycle and 2 mobile phones from the Knowledge Park police station area. Accused Suraj's accomplice Jeetu was arrested with the stolen Apache motorcycle in a police encounter on October 27 and another accused Raja alias Mukesh was arrested with a stolen motorcycle in a police encounter on December 9 and sent to jail. Suraj was still absconding. A reward of Rs. 25,000 was also announced on him. He said that about a dozen cases of robbery and theft are registered against accused Suraj.
