New Delhi: Renowned actress and BJP leader Roopa Ganguly, who became famous for playing the role of Draupadi in Mahabharata, has landed in trouble. On Thursday morning, the actress was arrested on charges of obstructing the work of the police. After the arrest, Roopa has also given her first statement on this.

It happened that on Wednesday, a 14-year-old schoolboy died after being hit by an excavator in Bansdroni, Kolkata. Rupa Ganguly protested in this case. She was protesting outside the Bansdroni police station since last evening, after which she was arrested early in the morning.

Kolkata Police brought Roopa Ganguly to Alipore Police Court lockup. Here the actress reacted to her arrest. Talking to the media, Roopa Ganguly said, "I did not disturb anyone. I did not interfere with anyone's work. I was sitting there peacefully so that the people who killed that boy could be caught."

Rupa was angry with the death of the child

In this case, Kolkata Police has accused Rupa Ganguly of obstructing work. Police Commissioner Manoj Kumar Verma says that Rupa Ganguly reached the police station after the arrest of five people in the case. According to the Police Commissioner - several cases have been registered in this regard, five people have been arrested. Mahabharat actress  reached the police station, she said that the police released the arrested people without any condition, she was arrested for scuffling with the police.

Was Rupa becoming a hindrance in the work?

Police said that we told her that it is not possible and legal action will be taken against her. So if anyone has any problem they can approach the court for relief. She sat on a dharna and did not move from there despite repeated requests, thereby obstructing the work of the police station. So a case was also registered against her. She was arrested and produced in the court.
