Prayagraj News: The Uttar Pradesh government is busy preparing on a war footing for the Maha Kumbh Mela to be held in Prayagraj. Its purpose is to provide clean toilets and urinal pots to the devotees coming to the Maha Kumbh, so that they return from here with a memorable experience.
For this, guidelines have been issued by the fair administration. According to this, the main focus of the administration will be on the cleanliness of the toilets. Special care will be taken to ensure that there is no shortage of manpower in the fair. So that the devotees do not face any kind of problem.
Guidelines have to be followed
Under this, vendors have been asked to ensure that one cleaner is deployed for 10 toilets as per the prescribed standards. Similarly, one supervisor will be appointed for 10 cleaners. In the same sequence, one cleaner will be deployed for 20 urinals and one supervisor for 20 cleaners.
During a conversation with ABP News, Special Executive Officer Maha Kumbh Mela Akanksha Rana shared the outline of the cleanliness plan. Akanksha Rana said that for better maintenance of public toilets and sanitation facilities in the fair area, some standards have been set by the fair administration on manpower deployment, which the vendors will have to ensure at all costs.
The aim of these new standards is to improve public hygiene so that pilgrims and tourists can get better facilities. Under this, it will be mandatory to appoint 1 cleaner for 10 toilets, 1 supervisor for 10 cleaners, 1 cleaner for 20 urinals and 1 supervisor for 20 cleaners.
Special kit for cleaners
Apart from this, it will also be ensured that the cleaners wear safety equipment (PPE) like gloves and shoes while cleaning. Through this, along with cleanliness, the safety of the cleaners will also be ensured.
Toilets, washbasins, floors, tiles will be kept stain and dirt free as per the prescribed standards. Availability of toilet paper, soap dispenser, hand sanitizer and feminine hygiene products will be ensured.
Dirt will be removed in 10-15 minutes
Apart from this, the flush system, taps and showers should be working properly without any leakage. Using odour control technology on the spot, arrangements will be made to remove the odour of the toilet in 10-15 minutes and to decompose the waste in 24 hours.
Mugs and buckets will also be available in the toilets. It will also be ensured that toilet facilities are easily available at nearby places. At least 1 out of every 10 toilets will be made accessible for the disabled.
