According to the Hindu calendar, this year Hanuman Janmotsav i.e. the full moon date of Chaitra month will start on 12th April at 3:21 am. Whereas, it will end the next day on 13th April at 5:51 am. Udaya Tithi has importance in Hinduism. In such a situation, the festival of Hanuman Janmotsav will be celebrated on 12th April.

Hanuman Janmotsav has special significance in Hinduism. Lord Hanuman is considered to be the ultimate devotee of Lord Rama. This day symbolizes his strength, devotion and qualities of selfless service to the devotees. On this day, special worship, bhajan-kirtan and bhandaras are organized in Hanuman temples. Along with this, devotees observe fast and do proper worship. It is believed that by worshipping Hanumanji with a true heart on this day, all troubles are removed and wishes are fulfilled.
Hanuman Janmotsav 2025 Puja Vidhi
- On this day, wake up in the morning, take a bath and wear clean clothes.
- Install the idol of Lord Hanuman on an altar.
- Make them take a bath with Ganga water.
- Offer vermillion and jasmine oil.
- Offer flowers, fruits, and sweets.
- Recite Hanuman Chalisa, Bajrang Baan, and Hanuman Ashtak.
- Perform Aarti with devotion.
- On this day, recitation of Akhand Ramayana is also considered auspicious.
- Finally, apologize for any mistakes made during the puja.
Why does Hanuman Jayanti come twice a year?
Hanuman Janmotsav comes twice a year. In North India, Hanuman Janmotsav is celebrated on Chaitra Purnima. It is said that Hanuman ji was born on this day. Whereas, in South India, Hanuman Janmotsav is celebrated on Kartik Krishna Chaturdashi. The belief behind this is that on this day, Goddess Sita blessed Lord Hanuman to be immortal.
