In such a situation, the festival of Govardhan Puja (Govardhan Puja Shubh Muhurat 2024) will be celebrated on 02 November (Kab Hai Govardhan Puja 2024). The auspicious time of worship on this day will be from 06:34 am to 08:46 am.

Story of Govardhan Puja (Govardhan Puja 2024 Ki Katha)

Govardhan Puja has a special significance in Sanatan Dharma . Lord Krishna is worshipped on this day. There are many mythological stories about this auspicious day. According to the Hindu scripture, Bhagavata Purana, once upon a time the people of Gokul used to worship Indra Dev, but one day Lord Krishna asked them not to worship Lord Indra and worship Govardhan Hill.

All the people obeyed Krishna and started worshipping Annakut. Lord Indra became very angry at this and he started pouring torrential rain, which caused chaos in Gokul. Then Lord Krishna lifted the entire Govardhan mountain on his little finger to save the people of Gokul from the wrath of Lord Indra. Recognizing the divine powers of Shri Krishna, Indra Dev calmed down and realized his mistake, for which he apologized and stopped the rain. From then on, the worship of Govardhan mountain started.
