New Delhi. Indian Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh Tripathi has arrived in Bangladesh on a five-day visit from Sunday. The purpose of his visit is to work together on the progress of bilateral military cooperation and new paths in the maritime sector. It is worth noting that earlier Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had visited India. During that time, there was a discussion on expanding military and diplomatic relations between the two countries.
This is Admiral Tripathi's first foreign visit after becoming the Indian Navy Chief. During this visit, he will discuss in detail the mutual military cooperation with his Bangladeshi counterpart Admiral Nazmul Hasan and other military officials. During his visit, Admiral Tripathi will also participate in the passing out parade of Bangladesh Naval Academy on July 4. Apart from this, the Indian Navy Chief will deliver his address at the National Defense College of Bangladesh in Dhaka.
A statement issued by the Indian Navy said that during the visit of the Navy Chief, the progress of bilateral military relations between the two countries will be discussed. Naval cooperation between India and Bangladesh has traditionally been strong. An official associated with the army said that Bangladesh has been India's partner under the 'Sagar' scheme.
He said that under the 'Sagar' scheme, both the countries will work together to deal with the challenges in future. During this period, the progress of the Sagar scheme can also be discussed. At the same time, the Defense Ministry said that the Indian Naval Ship 'Ranvir' has reached Chattogram, Bangladesh on June 29 to participate in maritime exercises.
