Gurugram Ari Pollution: The situation has worsened due to pollution in Gurugram adjacent to Delhi. In view of this, an advisory has been issued to allow 50 percent of the employees in private offices to work from home. Earlier, orders were given to close schools up to class 12 in many districts.

According to the guidelines issued in view of the pollution, "As per the direction of the Commission for Air Quality Management (NCR), all private institutions and corporate offices in Gurugram are advised to implement 50 per cent work-from-home policy from November 20, 2024 till further notice, this is important to deal with "severe" air quality levels and support GRAP measures to improve air quality in the region."

 

Schools up to 12th standard closed in these districts
Earlier on Monday (18 November), the Haryana government closed schools in many districts in view of air pollution. According to the government order, classes up to 12th standard were closed in schools in Gurugram, Nuh, Jhajjar, Faridabad, Rewari, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Sonipat and Mahendragarh.

In fact, the Naib Singh Saini government had authorized the commissioners to close classes in government and private schools on Monday. This permission was given in a letter issued by the Directorate of School Education. The letter states that the Deputy Commissioner can postpone direct classes for students up to class 12 in government and private schools and issue instructions for online classes.
