Police registered a case
Mudawat Preeti of the Stray Animal Foundation of India has filed a police complaint regarding the incident. Police have registered a case under Sections 3(5) and 11(1)(a)(i) of the PCA (Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) Act against three people, including the Sarpanch, a ward member, and the village secretary.
This incident occurred on January 19th. Police suspect that the dogs were poisoned and their bodies buried outside the village. According to SHO Nandeshwar Reddy, "We are investigating the matter seriously. We are trying to find the place where the dogs were buried."
How did the needle of suspicion turn?
Preeti says that several dogs suddenly disappeared from the village. When villagers were asked about this, they gave contradictory statements, leading to suspicion turning into belief. We suspected that the dogs were killed by a poisonous injection. Ward member Adulpuram Gautam revealed that the dogs were first given an anesthesia injection and then injected with a poisonous substance, which led to their death.
