Dehradun: Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Singh has formed an SIT for detailed investigation of the case of gang rape of a teenager inside a bus at ISBT. Two COs, two inspectors, two lady constables and a constable of a field unit have been included in the SIT under the supervision of SP City Pramod Kumar. The SIT will prepare a report after investigating the entire incident at the ground level.
The SIT will also investigate the footage of the entire route from Delhi to Dehradun. On the other hand, the five accused of gang-raping the teenager, the three drivers, the conductor and the cashier were presented before the duty magistrate by the Patel Nagar Kotwali police, from where all the five accused were sent to jail.
The accused will be produced before the judge
The accused will be presented before the regular judge again on Tuesday. No lawyer appeared before the court on behalf of the accused. The accused had gang-raped the teenager who had come to Dehradun from Delhi late on the night of 12th August inside the bus at ISBT. After counselling by the Child Welfare Committee, the matter reached the police on 17th August.
On August 18, the Patel Nagar Kotwali police arrested the accused in this case Dharmendra Kumar, resident of village Banjarawala Grant, police station Buggawala (driver), Devendra resident Churiyala, Bhagwanpur Haridwar (conductor), Ravi Kumar resident of village Sila, police station Nawabganj, district Farrukhabad (driver), Rajpal Rana resident of Banjarawala Grant, police station Buggawala, Haridwar (driver) and Rajesh Kumar Sonkar, resident of Majra Patel Nagar (cashier).
Custody remand of the accused will be taken
Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Singh said that the police will soon take custody remand of the accused to strengthen the evidence. He said that an SIT has been formed to investigate the case of gang rape with sensitivity and seriousness.
A surveillance team has been deployed by the SIT to collect footage of the bus from Delhi to Doon, its halts at Dhabas etc. in between and till ISBT. There is a possibility of getting a lot of evidence if the footage of the entire route is obtained.
He said that all the officers appointed in the SIT have been directed to conduct a thorough investigation on all aspects of the case and collect evidence against all the accused involved in the incident. Also, on the basis of evidence, a strong case should be filed against the accused in the court. The SSP himself will regularly review the action being taken by the SIT on a daily basis.

The victim's relatives met the Senior Superintendent of Police
The victim's family met the SSP on Monday and demanded strict punishment for the rape accused. There is still doubt about when the victim left the house. It is being said that she left the house with a bag on August 7-8. Information about where she stayed during this time is also not available.
The victim's father is also not able to clearly tell when his daughter left the house. The victim is also changing her statement repeatedly. The police is completing the medical examination of the victim. The medical report is expected to come in a day or two. Apart from this, the police have recorded the victim's statement, now her magisterial statement will be recorded.
Police sealed the victim's clothes and ISBT DVR
On August 17, when the matter of gang rape of a teenager came to light, the police first seized the cameras and recordings installed in the bus. However, the cameras installed in the bus were switched off. Apart from this, the clothes that the victim was wearing on the day of the incident have also been sealed by the police. At the same time, the DVR of all the cameras installed in ISBT has been seized and sealed. The entire incident is captured in these cameras. The police will present these evidences in the court.
Action will be taken on the basis of counseling and magistrate statements
The Senior Superintendent of Police said that action will be taken on the basis of whatever comes out in the statements of the victim before the Child Welfare Committee and the Magistrate. If the statements reveal that the victim has been molested at other places as well, then that will also be investigated. The victim will be medically examined. After this, she will also be treated by a psychiatrist.
