News Topical, Digital Desk : Vedanta Ltd on Friday informed the stock exchanges that it has been declared the preferred bidder for the Punnam manganese block in Andhra Pradesh. The company participated in the e-auction process conducted by the state government after qualifying in the initial bid. According to a notification issued by the Department of Mines & Geology of Andhra Pradesh, Vedanta was selected as the preferred bidder on September 18, 2025. The block covers an area of ​​152 hectares and is currently at the G4 exploration stage.

The grant of a composite license for the block will be subject to the fulfillment of conditions set out in the tender document. These include providing a performance bank guarantee, meeting legal requirements, and obtaining approvals from relevant government departments and agencies. The tender for the Pannam Manganese Block was invited through a notice dated July 10, 2025. The completion of the block allocation is expected to strengthen Vedanta's mineral resource portfolio. Share Performance: The company's shares closed down 0.34 percent at ₹454.60 on Thursday. Over the past year, the company's stock has declined 1.41 percent.
