Yogi Government Transfers 41 PCS Officers, New City Magistrates Appointed in Lucknow and Varanasi

Stepping up administrative efficiency, the Uttar Pradesh government has carried out a major bureaucratic overhaul by transferring 41 Provincial Civil Service (PCS) officers across the state. The latest reshuffle affects several key administrative positions, including city magistrates, additional district magistrates (ADMs), and sub-divisional magistrates (SDMs) in prominent districts such as Lucknow, Varanasi, Meerut, Jaunpur, Bulandshahr, and Pilibhit.

Key City Magistrate Postings in Lucknow, Varanasi, and Meerut

The high-level transfer list features crucial changes at the helm of city administration. Jagmohan Gupta, previously posted as SDM in Etah, has been appointed as the new City Magistrate of Lucknow, taking over from Gyan Chandra Gupta, who has been moved as ADM (Finance and Revenue) to Basti. Meanwhile, Mahendra Kumar Singh, who served as OSD at the Ayodhya Development Authority, has been assigned as the new City Magistrate of Varanasi. In Meerut, Pankaj Dixit takes charge as the new City Magistrate, while the former City Magistrate Naveen Kumar Srivastava has been promoted and transferred as Additional Commissioner of the Moradabad Division.

Comprehensive Administrative Realignment Across Districts

The sweeping state-level transfers also reassign several other senior administrative officers to vital regional responsibilities. Bindu Lata has been moved from Jaunpur SDM to ADM (Judicial) Kanpur Nagar, and Sanjay Chawla has been appointed ADM (Administration) in Azamgarh. Additionally, Mahendra Pratap takes over as Chief Revenue Officer of Sultanpur, Suresh Kumar moves from ADM Namami Gange Hamirpur to Secretary of the Saharanpur Development Authority, and Sanjay Kumar Singh transitions from Bulandshahr City Magistrate to ADM (Finance and Revenue) Gonda, ensuring a streamlined governance structure statewide.
