UP Police Flags Off 3,000-Km Mega Bike Rally from Lucknow to Kevadia

Rallying under the decisive banner of "Fight Against Drugs," the Uttar Pradesh Police on Saturday flagged off an expansive 3,000-kilometer cross-country motorcycle expedition from the state police headquarters in Lucknow, mobilizing law enforcement personnel to steer youth away from substance abuse ahead of National Unity Day 2026. Flagged off by Director General Rajiv Krishna, the massive civic-outreach initiative aims to build national consciousness for a drug-free India by engaging students and local communities across northern and western transit corridors. Addressing officers at the dispatch ceremony, the DGP emphasized that the state’s counter-narcotics doctrine has evolved beyond basic street arrests to focus on financial dismantling, systematically identifying and seizing the illegitimate real estate and accumulated wealth generated by organized smuggling syndicates to permanently cripple their networks.

Dismantling Cartels and Operation Dahan: Inside UP's Relentless Crackdown on Smugglers

Backing the public awareness drive with concrete enforcement metrics, the state police revealed that administrative crackdowns across Uttar Pradesh in 2026 have already led to 4,197 registered narcotics cases, the recovery of 36,088 kilograms of illicit substances, and the arrest of 6,076 smugglers. Demonstrating institutional efficiency in evidence processing and environmental disposal, the state ranks first nationally in narcotics destruction under "Operation Dahan," having safely incinerated 1,72,246 kilograms of contraband. Striking directly at cartel finances, authorities have attached properties valued at approximately Rs 80.33 crore across 96 cases under sections 68(E) and 68(F) of the NDPS Act, alongside preventive detention measures in 76 cases under the PIT NDPS Act. To date, state authorities have successfully neutralized 26 organized drug syndicates while coordinating inter-agency operations against 19 active interstate networks. Complementing these numbers, the specialized Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) has independently registered 504 cases since its inception, intercepting 45,292 kilograms of contraband valued at roughly Rs 554 crore and securing the arrest of 1,364 traffickers.

Across Four States to the Statue of Unity: The 3,000-Km Mission to Kevadia

Covering 1,500 kilometers on the outbound leg and completing an aggregate 3,000-kilometer round trip, the motorcycle convoy charts a vital cultural and educational route across northern India. Traversing major Uttar Pradesh centers including Etawah, Agra, Mathura, and Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida), the riders will cross the National Capital Region of Delhi before cutting through Rajasthan via Jaipur, Ajmer, and Udaipur. Moving into Gujarat through Gandhinagar, the contingent is scheduled to reach Ekta Nagar in Kevadia on October 26, where the riders will participate as key delegates in the primary National Unity Day ceremonial proceedings at the iconic Statue of Unity on October 31, cementing the national resolve for collective security and youth empowerment.
