  • Felicitation of Munesh Devi: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath personally honoured Munesh Devi, the widow of martyred Special Task Force (STF) Inspector Sunil Kumar, presenting her with financial assistance, an honorary shawl, and state gratitude.

  • The Shamli Encounter: Inspector Sunil Kumar laid down his life while demonstrating unyielding bravery during a fierce gun battle in the Jhinjhana area of Shamli district on January 20, 2025, where his team successfully neutralized four dreaded criminals.

  • Posthumous Kirti Chakra Announcement: Recognizing his exceptional heroism in the face of grave danger, it was announced that Inspector Sunil Kumar has been posthumously designated for the Kirti Chakra, India's second-highest peacetime gallantry award, on Independence Day 2026.
