Pre-Diwali Bonanza: CM Yogi to Launch 88 Gorakhpur Projects Worth ₹1,663 Cr
In a comprehensive civic transformation drive ahead of the festive season, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is set to dedicate and initiate 88 key development projects worth ₹1,663 crore across Gorakhpur district on Sunday, November 1, 2026. Designed to unclog bottlenecked arterial transit corridors, resolve chronic monsoon inundation, and establish modern municipal sanitation for eastern Uttar Pradesh, the high-value project rollout spans new railway overbridges, expansive stormwater canals, advanced sewage treatment networks, and arterial service roads. Commencing his tour in the morning, the Chief Minister will focus heavily on long-standing regional connectivity demands in the Chauri Chaura assembly segment before returning to the district center to formally inaugurate and break ground on landmark urban drainage systems that are revitalizing the ecological health of Ramgarh Tal.
Chauri Chaura Flyover Dedication: Ending Commuter Logjams at Crossing 147B with Martyr Memorial Art
The morning schedule opens in the Chauri Chaura constituency, where Chief Minister Yogi will inaugurate the newly completed Bhopa Bazaar Railway Overbridge (ROB), engineered at an investment of ₹59.44 crore. Built over level crossing number 147B along the bustling Gorakhpur-Bhatni railway line, the structure resolves decades of grueling vehicular gridlocks that routinely held up office goers, local merchants, farmers, and school buses multiple times a day due to frequent train traffic. Beyond serving as a vital traffic artery, the overbridge honors the cultural legacy of the historic 1922 Chauri Chaura freedom struggle, featuring expressive mural art across its pillars and retaining walls depicting the sacrifices of the immortal martyrs. Alongside the flyover, the Chief Minister will unveil and initiate 84 related assembly-level civic works totaling ₹287.56 crore, concentrating on rural link roads, flood protection embankments, and village approach infrastructure across the surrounding riverine belt.
Rejuvenating Ramgarh Tal: ₹495-Cr Godhdoiya Drain Phase 1 and ₹721-Cr AMRUT Sewer Network
Shifting to urban rejuvenation, the Chief Minister will officially commission Phase One of the massive Godhdoiya Drain Project, executed at an outlay of ₹495.24 crore. Spanning a 9.25-kilometer corridor, the first phase features a newly built 7.75-kilometer concrete drain, 17.50 kilometers of intercepting sewer lines, 14 culverts and bridges, and a 61-MLD main pumping station linked to a state-of-the-art 38-million-liter-per-day (MLD) sewage treatment plant (STP) that cleans wastewater across 17 northern wards before safely discharging it into Ramgarh Tal. Taking the initiative further, Yogi will lay the foundation for Godhdoiya Phase Two worth ₹92.72 crore—covering the remaining 1.5-kilometer RCC conversion, 120 streetlights, and a dedicated 1.5-kilometer access road to the Bichhiya Railway Colony STP—alongside a ₹65.93-crore, 7.75-kilometer dual-flank service corridor fitted with crash barriers and landscaping. To ensure lasting subterranean sanitation, he will also ground-break the AMRUT 2.0 Gorakhpur Sewerage Scheme Zone A-3, deploying ₹721.40 crore to install a 350-kilometer underground sewer grid, two intermediate pumping stations (37.5 MLD and 27 MLD), and 43,604 residential hookups, sealing off untreated domestic discharge at the root.
