On the pretext of bringing a bride, he asked for a friend's BMW worth Rs 76 lakh, then his intentions wavered; he refused to return it.

News Topical, Digital Desk : In Saharanpur, UP, a strange case of bad intentions of friends has come to light, which shattered the trust of friendship. Actually, a person's trust in his close friends proved costly when, on the pretext of bringing a bride to the wedding, they asked for a businessman's shiny new BMW car worth Rs 76 lakh, but later their intentions wavered. Instead of returning the car, the accused took possession of it and clearly refused to return the car. Now, after the strict stand and order of the court, Kotwali Sadar Bazaar police have registered a case against the deceitful friends and started investigating the matter.

Sanjeev Kapoor, director of M/s Avadh Trading Company, resident of Mission Compound, a posh area of Kotwali Sadar Bazaar, told in the case filed that a new BMW X-3 car was purchased in the name of his firm in February 2026 for about 76 lakh rupees. To buy the car, he took a loan of 65 lakh rupees from the bank, while the remaining amount was sent to the car dealer through RTGS from his firm's account. It is alleged that Hari Prakash Mittal, Naveen Mittal and Vansh Mittal, residents of Court Road, assured him that due to their contacts, the car would be available at a lower price from the BMW showroom in Delhi.

After purchasing the car, the accused, taking businessman Sanjeev Kapoor into confidence, promised to register it at a Noida address. Shortly thereafter, they requested a new BMW X3 car for a few days to bring a bride to Vansh Mittal's wedding. Due to their friendship and trust, Sanjeev handed over the car to them. After the wedding, when he asked for the car back, the accused repeatedly made excuses and evaded it. Meanwhile, Sanjeev discovered that the accused had linked the car's Fastag to their account and were using it. It is alleged that on May 10th, when Sanjeev Kapoor again asked for the car back, Hari Prakash Mittal and Naveen Mittal verbally abused him and flatly refused to return it. The victim claims he complained to the police, but no action was taken. Subsequently, he approached the court. On the court's orders, the Sadar Bazaar Kotwali police have registered a case against the accused. Inspector Chandrasen Saini stated that the matter is being investigated and further action will be taken based on the investigation.
