Lucknow Horror: Bank Employee Shoots Wife and Sister Dead in Broad Daylight After Posting Chilling WhatsApp Status

A shocking tragedy unfolded in broad daylight in the capital of Uttar Pradesh, leaving the entire Husadiya locality under the jurisdiction of the Gomti Nagar police station in utter disbelief. A bank employee executed a gruesome double murder before taking his own life, sending shockwaves through the local community. What makes this horrific crime even more chilling is that the accused explicitly announced his violent intentions on his mobile phone's WhatsApp status just moments before turning the weapon on his sister and himself.

The Sequence of Events: From Bank Premises to Fatal Shootings

According to preliminary police reports, the accused, identified as Manas, worked as an employee at the State Bank of India (SBI). His wife, Divya Mishra, was employed as a relationship manager at ICICI Bank. For the past three years, the couple had been living separately due to ongoing marital discord, and a divorce petition was currently pending in court. On Thursday afternoon, Manas contacted his wife and asked her to meet him outside her workplace in Gomti Nagar. As soon as Divya stepped out onto the street, Manas drew a pistol and fired multiple rounds at her at point-blank range, leaving her critically injured and bleeding profusely. While bystanders rushed her to a nearby hospital, doctors pronounced her dead upon arrival.

Chilling WhatsApp Status and the Subsequent Sister's Murder

After shooting his wife, Manas fled the scene and returned home. Before committing suicide, he updated his WhatsApp status, publicly declaring his actions and pointing fingers at his marital troubles. The chilling status message read: "Today I killed my wife because she cheated on me. Now I have to kill myself and my sister too. Her sister Pragya and Bharat know everything." Family members, relatives, and tenants who saw the alarming status panicked and desperately tried to contact Manas, but their efforts came too late. By the time police and concerned acquaintances reached the residence, Manas had shot his sister, Seema Bajpai, dead and subsequently taken his own life. Local authorities and forensic teams have cordoned off the crime scene, and a thorough investigation is underway to determine the exact motive behind the sister's tragic murder as police probe the wider domestic conflict.
