As the nation gears up for Independence Day celebrations, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath delivered a powerful and uncompromising message during a grand Tiranga Yatra in Lucknow on Sunday. Flagging off the patriotic procession from his official residence at 5 Kalidas Marg, the Chief Minister stood alongside Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak to address tens of thousands of enthusiastic youth and schoolchildren. Amidst an atmosphere charged with national pride, CM Yogi firmly asserted that disrespecting India's revered national symbols, heritage, anthem, and legendary freedom fighters will face strict accountability, emphasizing that living in the country while undermining its core values is completely unacceptable.
Grand Kickoff of Lucknow's Tiranga Yatra
The patriotic event commenced with a stirring group rendition of Vande Mataram performed by artists from Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, inaugurated officially by Deputy CMs Brajesh Pathak and Keshav Prasad Maurya. Following the inauguration, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed the massive gathering of 25,000 to 30,000 young participants and even paused to capture joyful tricolor selfies with children. The procession moved from Kalidas Marg through prominent city landmarks including the Golf Club, Civil Hospital, and Atal Square, finally culminating in front of the historic Vidhan Bhavan where young participants released tri-colored balloons to symbolize unity, freedom, and national integration under the "Har Ghar Tiranga" spirit.
Honoring History and 150 Years of Vande Mataram
Highlighting the profound historical weight of August, CM Yogi reminded the gathering of the supreme sacrifices made by India's legendary revolutionaries. He noted that the historic Kakori train action was executed on this very day in 1925 by young revolutionaries who shook the foundations of British colonial rule. Furthermore, the Chief Minister marked the monumental milestone of the national song Vande Mataram completing 150 years of inspiring generations. He underlined that the central and state governments have established exemplary models for citizen welfare, especially targeting youth empowerment and women's upliftment under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visionary leadership.
Prominent Leaders Join the Movement for Nation First
The high-profile Tiranga Yatra saw massive participation from senior political figures and administrators committed to fostering a strong sense of patriotism. Alongside CM Yogi Adityanath and the two Deputy Chief Ministers, BJP State President Pankaj Chaudhary, cabinet ministers Suresh Khanna and Swatantra Dev Singh, BJP Organization Minister Dharampal Singh, and a large contingent of state MLAs participated in the march. Organizers noted that the core objective of the Yatra is to instill deep national unity among the younger generation, celebrate India's democratic heritage, and propel the nationwide public participation campaign ahead of Independence Day.
