CM Yogi Inaugurates Green City-Madhopur Bandha Road In Gorakhpur: A Major Boost To Urban Infrastructure And Connectivity
The landscape of Gorakhpur continues to undergo a massive infrastructural transformation, cementing its identity as a hub of modern development and sustainable urban planning. Continuing his active push for regional growth, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday morning officially inaugurated the newly widened and strengthened road stretching from the Gorakhpur-Sonauli road via Green City to Madhopur Bandha.
Addressing a large public gathering at a ceremony held near the STP ground in Netaji Subhash Chandra Nagar, the Chief Minister emphasized that infrastructure projects across the region are systematically reshaping daily life. Highlighting the state government's dedication to improving the 'ease of living,' CM Yogi noted that narrow pathways and commuting bottlenecks are rapidly being replaced by multi-lane highways, expansive flyovers, and robust connectivity networks.
Solving Commuting Hassles And Eliminating Waterlogging
Recalling the longstanding challenges faced by residents in the area, the Chief Minister pointed out that rapid residential expansion and the establishment of multiple schools had turned local paths into congested routes where heavy vehicles struggled to pass.
The newly constructed 1.8-kilometer route—built at an estimated cost of ₹70 crore, connecting National Highway 24 through Green City and Pataniya to Madhopur Bandha—has effectively resolved these historic woes. Beyond easing public movement, the project incorporates robust drainage systems on both sides, successfully eliminating chronic waterlogging problems for local colonies.
Seamless Bypass Connectivity: Skipping City Traffic
Detailing the strategic importance of the new route, CM Yogi explained that commuters traveling toward Varanasi, Lucknow, Nepal, Siddharthnagar, Maharajganj, and Balrampur will no longer need to navigate through congested city centers.
The development connects seamlessly into broader transit plans, including the four-laning of the Hubert Dam-Madhopur embankment via Rajghat, a planned flyover at Domingarh, and direct access to the Kalesar-Lucknow bypass. Similarly, travelers heading toward Nepal or Sonauli can now utilize smooth alternate corridors like Mahesra, significantly cutting down travel times and enhancing regional logistics.
Sawan Shivratri Greetings And Warm Public Reception
The inauguration ceremony coincided with the auspicious occasion of Sawan Shivratri. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended warm greetings to all citizens, offering prayers to Lord Shiva for the enduring happiness, peace, and prosperity of the state.
Local citizens and residents, overjoyed by the gift of the upgraded infrastructure, accorded a rousing welcome to the Chief Minister. Cheering crowds and flower-showering locals greeted CM Yogi at nearly a dozen locations along the route, expressing deep gratitude for the development milestone.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony, preceded by traditional Vedic chanting, was graced by prominent leaders including Cabinet Minister Dr. Sanjay Nishad, MP Ravi Kishan Shukla, Mayor Dr. Manglesh Srivastava, and several local legislators and dignitaries.
