Technological Overhaul: Eradicating PDS Leakages and Resolving Land Disputes

Drawing attention to Uttar Pradesh’s massive administrative transformation over recent years, the Chief Minister highlighted how digital tools systematically eliminated deep-rooted corruption across departments. In 2017, nearly 60 percent of all public complaints were linked directly to systemic leakages in the Public Distribution System (PDS). Following the statewide integration of electronic Point of Sale (e-PoS) machines and transparent tracking systems across fair-price shops, over 160 million citizens now access seamless monthly food rations, bringing PDS-related public grievances down to near zero. Similarly, the government addressed over 3.4 million long-pending revenue disputes, equipping every tehsil across Uttar Pradesh with advanced rovers to conduct tamper-proof land measurements and curb illegal encroachments.

Urging the anti-corruption ombudsman to document its golden jubilee legacy and adapt dynamically to emerging governance challenges, Chief Minister Adityanath advocated for the comprehensive adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI), predictive data analytics, robust cybersecurity protocols, and next-generation e-governance systems. Delivering keynote remarks, Lokayukta Justice Sanjay Mishra stated that corruption cannot be regarded merely as an economic offense, but strikes at the very core of national character. Golden Jubilee Milestone: Over 1.25 Lakh Cases Handled in 50 Years

Formed on September 14, 1977, the Lokayukta organization has processed an impressive 1,25,056 complaints and investigative cases across its five-decade institutional lifespan. Accelerating its grievance resolution rate in the modern era, the office received 22,669 complaints over the past nine years alone, successfully adjudicating and disposing of 20,553 matters while securing substantial financial relief amounting to ₹33.55 crore for aggrieved citizens. Over the last five years, the watchdog has submitted 186 investigative reports, 35 special reports, and 37 binding recommendations to state authorities, demonstrating its enduring authority as a guardian of administrative integrity.
