Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is arriving in Mathura and Vrindavan today for a high-profile, two-day official visit to celebrate the divine birth anniversary of Lord Krishna on Shri Krishna Janmashtami 2026. Marking his 20th visit to the sacred birthplace and his 43rd official tour of Mathura during his tenure, the Chief Minister is scheduled to inaugurate major infrastructure projects, interact with local saints, and unveil a massive development package totaling Rs 1,051 crore for the Braj region. Local administrative preparations, led by District Magistrate CP Singh, have been fully completed to manage massive festive crowds and ensure seamless security during the high-security VIP movement.
Inaugurating the Swami Haridas Auditorium and Braj Projects
The Chief Minister will land in Vrindavan via helicopter at 1:00 PM, beginning his itinerary with the inauguration of the newly constructed Swami Haridas Auditorium at the Geeta Research Institute. During this ceremonial opening, he will felicitate revered saints and sages of the region and participate in a community Annaprashan ceremony organized by local district authorities. Following these events, CM Yogi will chair the crucial tenth board meeting of the Uttar Pradesh Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad. Discussions during the meeting will center on accelerating regional tourism, heritage preservation, and the structural progress of the strategic flyover connecting the Agra-Delhi Highway directly to the Yamuna Expressway.
Rs 1,051 Crore Development Gift and Infrastructure Push
A major highlight of the Chief Minister's Janmashtami visit is the rollout of developmental projects worth Rs 1,051 crore, encompassing both new foundation stone layings and the inauguration of completed public utilities. Officials confirmed that CM Yogi will personally inspect the ongoing progress of the Kanha Bhakti Stambh Marg in Vrindavan before retiring for an overnight halt at the Veterinary University campus. This multi-crore funding aims to upgrade urban civic amenities, ease pilgrimage traffic, and expand modern tourist facilities across the holy towns of Mathura, Vrindavan, and surrounding Braj circuits.
Janmabhoomi Darshan and Security Protocol
Due to unprecedented pilgrim influx and heavy crowd density expected during the festival peak, specialized security protocols have been enacted. While a direct visit to the Thakur Banke Bihari temple has been adjusted, the Chief Minister will maintain his tradition of paying obeisance at the holy sanctum of Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi on Friday morning at 9:55 AM. Following his sacred darshan and review of local arrangements, he will depart for Agra by helicopter at 11:15 AM, concluding a deeply spiritual and politically significant developmental tour.
