‘Best Regional Branch’ Award as Yogi Govt’s Good Governance Push Earns National Acclaim
Uttar Pradesh’s sustained push toward administrative transparency, bureaucratic accountability, and public welfare execution has earned top-tier national recognition, with the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) officially declaring its Uttar Pradesh Regional Branch as the "Best Regional/Local Branch" in the country for the year 2025-26. Approved by the Institute's national headquarters in New Delhi, the prestigious honor acknowledges the Lucknow-based branch for its exceptional contributions to public policy research, civil administrative training, and grassroots citizen engagement. Operating with institutional backing from the Uttar Pradesh government under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state branch has emerged as a vital intellectual anchor for policy formulation and institutional capacity building across the state.
Vice President to Confer Top Honor at IIPA Annual General Meeting on October 31
The national headquarters confirmed that the formal award presentation will take place during the high-level Annual General Body meeting scheduled for Saturday, October 31, 2026, at the IIPA Central Campus in New Delhi. The honor will be personally conferred by the Vice President of India, who also serves as the ex-officio President of IIPA. Institutional leaders attributed the landmark national success to a coordinated collective effort under the strategic leadership of the branch's Chairman and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary R. Ramani, alongside Honorary Secretary and retired IAS officer K. Ravinder Naik. Highlighting the collaborative spirit of the branch's members, academic faculty, and administrative staff, Naik noted that the national accolade validates Uttar Pradesh's institutional dedication to public administration and serves as a strong catalyst to further elevate policy research and welfare initiatives.
Strengthening Grassroots Governance: Institutional Capacity Building in Uttar Pradesh
Founded by the Government of India as the premier apex body for advancing democratic values, good governance, and administrative research, IIPA operates a nationwide network of regional chapters, with the Lucknow branch playing a critical role in state-level reforms. Under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s governance mandate, the state has prioritized the swift, leak-proof delivery of government welfare programs alongside structured upskilling of administrative personnel. The IIPA Uttar Pradesh branch has actively bridged the gap between academic research and executive implementation by conducting specialized training modules, organizing high-level governance symposiums, and fostering constructive public participation. By embedding modern administrative benchmarks into local state machinery, this national recognition cements Uttar Pradesh’s status as a forward-looking model for accountable, responsive, and citizen-centric governance.
