News Topical, Digital Desk : To mark the 100th anniversary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat addressed the gathering with his guidance at a major public seminar and dialogue program titled "100 Years of Sangh Journey - New Horizons, New Dimensions." Held at the Himalayan Cultural Center in Dehradun, the program discussed a wide range of social, political, and cultural issues.

Dr. Mohan Bhagwat, while clarifying the Sangh's objective, said that the Sangh is not in competition with anyone. If the nation is strong, its citizens will also be strong. If the nation is weak, individuals will not be safe in their own country. The Sangh's objective is to develop individuals, because only strong individuals can build a strong society and nation.

India's leadership role

He further stated that after a long historical journey, the world is looking forward to seeing India once again in a leadership role. Through the principles of the Sangh, he called upon the gathering to participate in empowering society and the nation. He spoke about the "Panch Parivartan" principles and urged them to resolve to take India to its ultimate glory.

Mohan Bhagwat said that the root cause of social evils and discrimination is not the system, but the mind. Darkness is eliminated not by beating it, but by lighting a lamp. Discrimination will only be eradicated by a change in behavior. Many volunteers in the Sangh work for decades, but do not expect recognition, because work is paramount.

"Technology is a means, not an end."

Regarding the digital age, he said that technology is a means, not an end. It should be used with restraint and discipline. It is essential to devote intimacy and time to family; human beings cannot be sacrificed for technology. He said that only those who work to unite are Hindus. Devotion to the motherland is essential. The world values power more than truth, so acquiring power is essential, but its use should be restrained.

The RSS chief stated that women are completely independent. Their participation in the country's governance should be 50 percent, not just 33 percent. Women played a significant role during the Prohibition era. He clarified that the RSS does not practice Hindutva politics, but rather works to uplift society through individual development. Corruption begins in the mind and can be eradicated there. He emphasized the need to view population from both perspectives – burden and resource – and stressed the need for thoughtful policies that can be implemented equally.
