Lashkar-e-Taiba identified the terrorist
Terrorist organizations Lashkar-e-Taiba and Pakistan's Islami Jamaat Talaba have issued statements identifying one of the three terrorists killed by the army in Operation Mahadev. According to Islami Jamaat Talaba, one of the three killed terrorists was named Habib Tahir alias Habib Afghani alias Habib Khan alias Chhotu. Habib Afghani was a resident of Aziz village in Koiyan Khaigala area of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir's Rawalakot district.
The second terrorist, Suleman Shah, was a top Lashkar commander and one of the masterminds of the Pahalgam terror attack. Suleman Shah was also a Pakistani citizen and a former commando of the Pak Army's special unit. Later, Suleman met Hafiz Syed after which he was given the task of training Lashkar at its Muridke terror camp headquarters, where he used to train terrorists.
Who was terrorist Suleman, how did he infiltrate
In the year 2022, Pakistani intelligence agency ISI gave Suleman the big responsibility of carrying out terrorist activities in Kashmir and re-recruiting youth and asked him to go to Kashmir. It is said that in September 2023, Suleman along with his four companions infiltrated from Pakistan and entered the valley of Kashmir. After crossing the border, Suleman first went to Kulgam area of South Kashmir where he met Junaid, the top local commander of Lashkar of South Kashmir and then both Suleman and Junaid reached Sonamarg from Dachigam forest area from South Kashmir in June 2024 and planned the attack on Zojila tunnel.
According to sources in the security forces, the Sonamarg tunnel attack was carried out in October 2024, in which seven labourers were killed. Junaid Bhatt was also involved in this attack along with Suleman. With the help of Junaid Bhatt, Suleman was successful in carrying out this attack.
Sonamarg tunnel attack was carried out
After the tunnel attack, the security forces conducted a massive search operation for several days in the entire forest area from Gagangir in Sonamarg to Dachigam in search of Suleman and Junaid Bhatt. The security forces had concrete information that Junaid Bhatt was taking refuge in the forest area with Pakistani-origin terrorist commander Suleman and his other comrades. Finally, two months later, in December 2024, Junaid Bhatt was killed by the security forces in an encounter in the Dachigam area. When he was going from Dachigam towards South Kashmir. Junaid Bhatt was alone then.
After killing 26 people the terrorists were hiding in the jungles
After the killing of Junaid Bhat, Suleman was hiding in the Dachigam forest area along with his three other companions, Jibran and Afghani Abu Hamza. According to information, Junaid had several hideouts between Gagangir and Sonamarg, which were used by Suleman and his other companions. According to information, from Dachigam, Suleman went with his group to South Kashmir where the Pahalgam attack was planned and along with local supporters, the Pahalgam attack was planned and on April 22, a massacre was carried out in Pahalgam in which 26 innocent people were brutally killed.
The army killed three terrorists
After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, Suleman Shah along with his companions wanted to leave the forests of South Kashmir and first go to the Jammu region. After a tough search operation and getting information about his movements twice, Suleman changed his route and after staying in the forests of South Kashmir for eight days, he headed towards the Dachigam area. The biggest reason for this was that hideouts were already made in the forest area here and at that time the attention of the security forces was more towards South Kashmir, so the group went back to Dachigam, where yesterday all three terrorists were killed in their hideout.
Who was the killed terrorist Habib Afghani
Habib Afghani joined Islami Jamaat Talaba and SLF, the student wing of Yasin Malik's JKLF, in 2018 and was also the head of Islami Jamaat Talaba in Rawalkot till 2020, but being a supporter of armed struggle in Kashmir, Habib Tahir alias Habib Afghani left Islami Miyat Talaba and joined Lashkar-e-Taiba. Similarly, Lashkar-e-Taiba also paid tribute to terrorist Habib Afghani by sharing the same information from its proxy social media account.
Habib had planned the Pahalgam attack
Habib Tahir, codenamed Abu Hamza Afghani, was a Pakistani national from Khaigala in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). He was a former soldier of the Pakistan Army who was attached to the Special Service Group (SSG) before joining Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) as an A-category terrorist.
