The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has dramatically intensified its ongoing disproportionate assets probe against Dr. Nori Lakshmi Bhaskar, Professor and Additional Medical Superintendent at Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), unearthing a sweeping empire of benami real estate, liquid investments, and unexplained wealth. Armed with court-issued search warrants, multiple specialized ACB enforcement teams executed simultaneous raids across five key locations in and around the Greater Hyderabad region on Wednesday. The fresh searches revealed layers of clandestine financial transactions and benami land deeds, with senior anti-graft investigators estimating that the aggregate market valuation of the properties amassed by the senior hospital administrator could exceed a staggering ₹200 crore.

Among the most startling revelations of the latest search operation was the recovery of ₹4.94 lakh in liquid cash from the residential premises of a barber employed at the state-run NIMS hospital, triggering an in-depth financial investigation into his role as a suspected conduit or custodian for the doctor’s illicit funds. Sleuths also uncovered original conveyance deeds for three vast agricultural land parcels situated in Maheshwaram, carrying an estimated market valuation of approximately ₹5.7 million. Crucially, investigators stumbled upon ownership documentation for an upscale open plot situated in the prestigious MLA Colony of Banjara Hills—one of Hyderabad’s most exclusive real estate belts—which holds an official book value of around ₹2.7 crore while commanding a market rate manifold higher. The parcel has been traced to links involving an outsourced hospital worker named D. Ganesh along with other administrative associates, alongside investment portfolios valued at ₹20 lakh and hand-loan receipts amounting to ₹3 lakh.

Expanding Evidence Trail: Luxury Vehicles, Mutual Funds, and Gold Unearthed in September Raids

The latest seizures follow an initial multi-location raid launched on September 22 across the doctor's primary residence in Erragadda, as well as the homes of close kin and associates, where an immense treasure trove of luxury assets had already been impounded. That preliminary sweep revealed eight luxury residential apartments and four commercial/open plots scattered across Yadadri, Nandigama, Shamirpet, and Visakhapatnam. The search teams confiscated ₹4.1 million in commercial bank accounts, ₹1.2 million parked in postal savings, ₹3.5 million channeled into private finance syndicates, and a massive ₹29.55 million locked in mutual fund holdings. In addition to ₹5 million worth of premium electronics and four two-wheelers, the agency seized 517.8 grams of pure gold and a high-end luxury vehicle fleet consisting of a Jaguar, an Audi, and a Tata Nexon.
